Guest 716 700 most useful found the following review. A lot of misconceptions about these products. By Michael O. Just wanted to clarify some misconceptions about these products jump-start/inverter/inflator. I have three different types of 400 watts to 1500 watts and have done lots of research on them. I guess you could call an unusual hobby I have. I blame the manufacturers of these devices over exaggerated or simply choose not to inform consumers of their limitations. These units are not as powerful as you think! Most people seem to be very disappointed in the amount of "juice" they put out. - Just loaded this probably will find a small TV / DVD combo continuously for about 2.5 hours. That's it. In addition, you can not run a coffee maker, hair dryer, microwave, refrigerator, or a powerful tool out of this. It's just not designed for such use. Buy this for a small TV, fan or laptop running for a few hours, or on your mobile phone That's all it is designed to recharge. - You probably will not be able to jump start 1:08-cylinder engine with this especially when an older car or have a completely discharged battery. These units are primarily for four and six cylinder engines. They are just not big enough batteries to run them in a big V-8. - The air compressor is a little more than a toy. All these devices have small, noisy compressors in them that lasts 20 to 30 minutes to blow a full size 16 "tire is flat. And you will be fully discharged battery, as a deck. Plus you can damage.! compressor running continuously for a long time when they heat up so much in use, it is better to take your tires to a petrol station unit will SELF-DISCHARGE by just sitting in your car loses about 10 to 20% of the cost each Mon hotter it is outside, the faster it will self-discharge. OVER eventually destroy the battery, leaving him in a prolonged state HIGH! You can kill this device permanently by a process known as sulfation, in just one year, if not keep it charged (This is what happened with my first unit, Xantrex Power-Plus 400. It took me about 1 / 2 of the original cost of the unit to replace the battery) - To avoid this it is necessary or put it in the house and is recharged once a month (you will remember it), or keep you logged in? lighter at all times. Some people claim that it can overwhelm the battery, but I disagree. Your car voltage regulator integrated unit should maintain the top without causing any damage to it. Also, you know I always have a freshly charged unit at 100% ready to go. -You must immediately recharged after each use. If used for a match, or even to charge your cell phone to recharge the unit in a day or two. These practices will prevent damaging sulfation and prolong engine life, it does not last forever. Just like your car battery will eventually be replaced when the battery in the device. Expect to spend about 100 full charge / discharge, or 5 to 7 years, whichever comes first, before the battery must be replaced in this. Some of these jump-starters/inverters has no user-replaceable batteries so you may need to replace the whole unit anyway. You can usually find a cheap replacement batteries on e-Bay if you are handy enough to have to disassemble it and find out what size battery is inside. Based on weight and size, I would say VEC026BD has a 20-amp battery HR in it, but it's just a guess on my part, and should be verified by disassembling. For the money, I'm not super excited with this device. I bought the Xantrex Powerpack 600 is available on sale from Amazon for $ 100 The 600 has a powerful battery and can run larger equipment than the B & D He usually goes for $ 130, but even with this price is worth the premium over the B & D. I hope this guide.
